County declares June 13 as
‘Sister Janet Fischer Day’

After more than 30 years, Sister Janet Fischer will end her day-to-day service at St. Christopher Catholic Church in June.
The ‘Nun on the Run,’ as Fischer is sometimes affectionately called, says that while her role at the church will end, her community activity will not. Fischer is well known in the community for her service activities, seen regularly participating in community efforts like the Humane Society of Evans County, the Evans County Christian Food Bank, Family Connection, and Concerted Services. She says that she plans to still maintain a very active schedule in her regular community involvement.
