The Evans County Recreation Department is located on Highway 280 East in Claxton. The park provides activities that the whole family can enjoy. The park's features include six lighted baseball diamonds, four lighted tennis courts and a covered pavilion under the "Big Oak" that is used for concerts, plays and other activities. Concerted Services has teamed up with the Evans County Recreation Department to sponsor a Senior Citizens Club. Members of the senior Citizens Club has access to the Hames Wellness Center. Exercise equipment and weights are available for ages 50 and up. The center also provides aerobic classes. Other events include trips to the Savannah and Oglethorpe Mall. An outdoor track is also available for those interested in exercising or walking outdoors.
Evans County is home to a beautiful 18-hole golf course. The golf couse is located on Highway 301 South.
Located on Highway 280 East near Daisy is the public fish area. The 84 and 30 acre lakes offer fishing from sunrise to sunset daily. The area also has an eight acre lake that offers fishing on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. A nature trail, camping sites and outdoor classrooms are also available.
Canoochee River
The Canoochee River offers several different locations throughout the county to provide locals and visitors an area for swimming, picnicking, fishing and other outdoor activities.
