Really like your new website. Will you continue to have "This Week In History" at some point? I really enjoyed reading that article.

The new website is wonderful. It really helps me keep in contact with Claxton and it's citizens. Good design and implementation.

I would like to know how our county has the money to purchase a piece of land ( 10 acres ) for $200,000.00 when the property is only assessed at $70,000.00. The county would like to move the transfer station to this piece of property south of Claxton,on US highway 301. This would be the first sight visitors from the south would view upon entering our beautiful county.

Here's a suggestion for saving a little cash while our economy is in such trouble. Call the cable company and tell them to discontinue your service. Instead of being glued to a television program in the evening, spend the time talking with your children and spouse. Read the Bible together. Pray. It might surprise you to find out what's going on in your own home. And you could save several hundred dollars over a year.

Our family turns off lights when not in a room. I only wash clothes and dish when I have a full load. Our shower time has been cut down.

My husband and I try not to drive out of town for anything. Sometimes that is necessary as Claxton does not have enought retail stores.

My wife and I do not go out for entertainment each week anymore. We stay home and make our own.

Boy was I glad to see that claxton has a web page of the city, I wish I can see some information from the school system, such as graduation rate, meeting ayp, total number of student that entered as freshmen, but failed to complete school with their peers. Maybe in an upcoming section of your newspaper...you may be able to let us know. A former Longhorn

I live in Detroit and feel sad that your Chrysler dealership is closing..but please don't view Detroit as the demon...we've been dealing with recession for six years, not one,and it's not just a few CEO's who are affected. In the past couple years many dealerships have closed and 14 more were announced last week. Welcome to the party. http://www.newsweek.com/id/105843

For the Opinion section. Apparently, Evans County Law Enforcement needs some assistance. You need to find the individuals that are attacking the citizens of Evans County,Now! It's time to "put down" the individuals who are robbing and invading the homes of tax paying citizens! I grew up in Evans County and will gladly go on the hunt for these scourges of the earth. Heaven forbid my family is attacked! Hades hath no rath . . .

Mickey, Pam, Al, and everyone who is responsible for getting the news out to us, I am very much impressed with the paper and the website. I really enjoyed the article on Observation of human behavior. Mickey...I can certainly identify with what you have observed. Retired PM.

I visited my family during Thanksgiving and was very impressed with how well the city is kept up. Hats off to those that make the entrance and exit out of the city a pleasant scenery. However, some crepe myrtles will enhance downtown view. Overall a great city to visit for stress relief.
