Although many of the people shown in the photograph above have passed away, a number of those that posed in front of the Claxton Manufacturing Company building are still among Evans County’s citizens. A little trivia for history buffs: Jaco Pants, Inc. opened an operation in Claxton in 1946. Was Jaco the predecessor of Claxton Manufacturing Inc.? The Enterprise is now featuring photographs from our county's past in an effort to help build interest in Evans County's Centennial Observance which will occur in August of 2014.
