Hagan celebrates County’s Centennial

Hagan celebrated Evans County’s Centennial on Saturday with a car show, antique exhibits, live entertainment and a street dance. Although the weather was hot and humid, Evans Countians strolled through the exhibits, enjoyed a hotdog or hamburger and sat to visit for awhile as local artists performed in front of the DeLoach House on S. Railroad St.
“We had a real good turn out. We had people continuously coming … all afternoon,” said Vernon Owens, mayor of Hagan. Around 400 people enjoyed Centennial activities in Hagan throughout the day.
Mayor Owens opened the day’s festivities with a welcome to the crowd. “On behalf of the citizens of Hagan, we welcome you here today. It’s going to be a great day for us to celebrate the Centennial for Evans County,” he said.
