Area HS seniors receive $6,000 in collegiate awards

Three high school graduates representing the area’s best and brightest combined superior academic performance, community service, athletics and other significant accomplishments to earn Claxton Poultry’s annual Normal W. Fries Scholarships.

Brisa Gomez of Claxton High School, Stephen Garlon Rogers of Pinewood Christian Academy and Emily Sophia Juarez Salas of Tattnall County High School each received $2,000 in grants to boost their college plans.

The widely recognized scholarship program was established in 1998 by Claxton Poultry Founder Norman W. Fries.  Now in its twenty-first year and directed by Doris S. Fries, chairman of the board, area high school students pursuing careers in health, nutrition, agriculture or business are recognized for their outstanding achievements in academics, athletics and community service.
