Ava Jean Kicklighter Lightsey

Ava Jean Kicklighter Lightsey, 96, passed away September 4 at Camellia Health and Rehab. The Tattnall County native resided in Evans County for more than 50 years. She had been a member of Beard’s Creek Primitive Baptist Church since 1946. She loved spending time with her family and working in her yard. Ms. Lightsey was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Lightsey, and daughter, Sandra L. Sikes. Surviving are her daughter, Eva Sue (Bill) Rogers of Power Springs, Ga.; four grandchildren, Amy Woodard, Valerie Sikes and Frank Sikes, all of Waycross and Susan Jobson of Douglasville; six great-grandchildren; two step-children, Bobby Rogers and Charlotte ann Rogers, both of Atlanta; several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Friday, Sept. 7, from 1-2 p.m., at J. Mellie NeSmith Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Friday, Sept. 7, at 2 p.m., at J. Mellie NeSmith Funeral Home Chapel.
