City officials planned to meet this past Monday night at which time they were expected to approve health/life insurance policy renewal for Claxton employees. The Monday night special session was in follow up to their regular meeting on Nov. 3, when it was agreed that the matter needed further discussion.
Either by renewal or approval of a new provider, officials have until Dec. 1 to choose health/life insurance for the city’s three dozen employees. Coverage under the current insuror is expected to expire no later than Jan. 1. 2026.
