Election Board pays tribute to former director, McCoy

The votes are in. Local residents and many from other parts got together Thursday afternoon and showed their appreciation to Evans County’s longest serving elected official – former election superintendent Darin McCoy, who stepped aside from those duties at the start of the new year. McCoy was honored with a reception given Thursday by members of the new Board of Elections that took over Evans County’s election duties on January 1. The reception, attended by more than 100 to express their appreciation for McCoy’s long commitment to the county’s election processes, was hosted by Election Board Director Amanda Massey, board members Carolyn Green, Sharon Massey, Patricia Milton.
