Evans Commissioners to create new election board, joining ranks with majority of state’s 159 counties

A proposed state law that would require all Georgia counties to have a local board to carry out elections failed to cross over from one house to the other by the 28th legislative session, known as Crossover Day. However, after hearing from Evans Probate Judge Darin McCoy, the Evans Board of Commissioners agreed last week to proceed with the would-be mandate set forth in Senate Bill 212.
