Gladys K. McDonald

Gladys K. McDonald, age 84, died Tuesday, Oct. 20, at East Georgia Regional Medical Center under the care of Ogeechee area Hospice. She was a native of Evans County and resided in Statesboro for the past 22 years. Gladys was a member of Fletcher Memorial Baptist Church and retired from Georgia Southern University Postal Service.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Bertha Kerby; an infant daughter and brothers, Raymond Kerby and Hazel Kerby.
She is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Janice and Randy Jenkins of Claxton, Jane and Dennis Anderson and Tammy Greene of Statesboro and former son-in-law Gene Greene of Statesboro; two sisters, Bessie Kerby Yentzer and Elaine Doak of Savannah; one brother and sister-in-law, George Franklin Kerby, Sr. (Betty) of Bloomingdale; eight grandchildren, Jeramy (Meggan) Anderson, Travis Jenkins, Stephen Anderson, Nathan Jenkins, Daniel (Scottie) Jenkins, Scott Barnard, Mara Walden and Hope Greene; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held in the chapel at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home, at 11 a.m. with Jeramy Anderson and Pastor Chris Fowler officiating.
Interment was in the Brewton Cemetery in Claxton.
Grandsons served as pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers were The Friendship Club.
