Hope Gray has been hired as the new Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) of Evans Memorial Hospital (EMH). Gray took on the position six weeks ago that was held by the hospital’s previous Chief Executive Officer Nikki NeSmith, who also held the position of CNO. NeSmith left EMH June 9 to accept employment elsewhere.
Gray is a registered nurse and holds a Bachelor or Science in nursing from Nova Southeastern Univeristy.
Born and raised in south Florida, Gray previously worked for approximately 15 years – primarily in Miami – for a large system of hospitals named Baptist Health South Georgia. Positions held during her tenure there included Transfer Coordinator, Emergency Department Clinician, Nursing Supervisor, and Emergency Department Nurse.
Most recently, Gray was employed by East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro where she served as Emergency Department Assistant Clinical Diretctor and Nurse Case Manager. She has also been employed by Ogeechee Technical College as an Adjunct Instructor.
“Evans Memorial is a gem right here in the community,” said Gray.
